  About FHS Library

Library hours are 8:15 am – 4 pm. See Ms Gleason if you need to be in the Library beyond these hours.
  Help with Research Projects
Ms Gleason is available during the day and after school to help students conduct their research and write essays and reports. Please ask for help to:

  • Write a thesis statement
  • Develop an outline
  • Cite sources
  •   Book clubs

  • The White Pine book club runs from November to April. All students are welcome to join this club. The books on the short list are written by Canadian authors and appeal to young adults.
  • The Novel Ideas book club also runs from November to April.
  • These books are a mix of fiction and non-fiction and appeal primarily to senior students.
Both book club readers meet 2 or 3 times during the year over lunch to discuss the books. The last meeting is held in April when voting for the best book takes place. (Students must read a minimum of 5 books to vote.) Lunch is provided by Ms. Gleason and students have an opportunity to win some great prizes.
Fellowes Library Committee for Literacy FLCL
The purpose of this committee is to promote literacy at Fellowes and encourage reluctant readers to borrow books from the Library. This committee meets during lunch (compliments of Ms Gleason & Mr. Baird) to discuss ways to promote the Library, plan book purchasing trips and prepare materials that will advertise the Library’s resources and services.
      Magazines and newspapers subscriptions
The Library subscribes to 60 magazines and The Toronto Star and Ottawa Citizen.
